After the removal from power of the former priest Jean Bertrand Aristide,
Haiti was facing a though situation.
During that time I had the worst experience in my life . One day my
mother and I came from the city, around one or two pm, where we went
shopping few thing for the house. A group of people stopped our car, about
fifteen to twenty carrying big guns asking us for everything like money, food, and etc..
it was really scary and frightened the way they were looking at us and the situation.
One of came to us and said : if you do as I say, I promess nobody going
to get hurt. So we did as he said , gave him all the money that we had ,
our jewelry, all things that we bought where we from. One of them hit me
on my elbow and said: look at you, expensive car , great life , those people
made the country like this. Poor comes poorer and rich comes richer. Another
one came and said: they cooperated with us lived them alone.
they allowed us to have the car back, I drove that day like a maniac to reach my house.
since then, I came more careful in the streets of port-Au-prince.
I will never forget about that experience. It was probably the most
experience painful I ever had in my life

What a terrifying experience, John. Unfortunately, this kind of gap between the 'haves' and the 'have nots'exists in several countries. The majority of the population is poor, sometimes desperately poor, and there is also a small minority of peaople who have a high standard of living and sometimes resentment builds up and there is crime and violence. I hope this was the worst experience you ever go through in your life and you never have such a thing happen again.
